I always wanted to draw Yamilet (P.R) In any carnival themed drawing,so here it is!.
That's a Vejigante as far as i know they were known in the jibaro's folktales and story's as michiveous spirits that scared folks in the harvesting sites ,also they were a form of bad luck and misfourtune for the harvesting.Is a curious folktale indeed.Over the years in has integrated to our culture and shown in carnavals around the towns in puerto rico.Like the carnaval of ponce and other carnavals from respective towns.They have diferrent types of coustumes,colors and accesories.
Names can differer from region to region,some call them vejigantes ,while other can call them "gigantes" or "diablillos".
Also this is the "new: version of yamilet, finally i found a version i most liked .
